Dampness

Rising Damp

Rising damp in buildings occurs when water from the ground rises up through the fabric of a building by a process loosely termed as "capillary action."

In simple terms, the water rises up the wall of a building in the same way that water soaks up in a sponge.

Condensation

Condensation is moisture caused by everyday living. Moisture is absorbed into the warm atmosphere of your home and when the house cools down the moisture condenses on cool surfaces.

The result is condensation, an extremely underestimated cause of mould and dampness in our homes, it is almost certainly the most common form of dampness within a building.

Treatment: There are solutions to the problem of condensation, we carry out condensation surveys to investigate the problem areas and make recommendations to cure the problem.
